The Gift of Charity
This Christmas, Racesafe are donating 10% of your order value to the Children's Air Ambulance.
It's been a challenging year for us all, and no less for the incredible charities that work tirelessly for their charitable causes. One of those charities is the Children's Air Ambulance, and this year we have decided to donate a proportion of our takings to them to help with this vital work.
Every day of the year, our local air ambulance service, the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (Part of the Air Ambulance Service) is helping save more lives. Their critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of five rescue missions a day, helping with medical and trauma cases just like Abbie (below) who had a riding accident. Within minutes they can be on the ground delivering lifesaving care.
Another of the charity’s services is the Children’s Air Ambulance which is a paediatric intensive care transfer service which covers the country working with 10 clinical partner teams and does not charge the NHS for this service. Utilising two state-of-the-art helicopters based in Doncaster and Oxford, flying critically ill children and babies in a quarter of the time it would take by road, over 500 families from all across the country have used the Children’s Air Ambulance.
The air ambulance gives people the very best chance of survival and recovery. They are supported by a Critical Care Car meaning that they can reach those who need them 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations to raise the £1,700 we need for each mission. Find out more at theairambulanceservice.org.uk
Did you know: It costs, on average, £1700 per Air Ambulance Mission
As part of our efforts to spread hope this Christmas, we wanted to do something for charity to help give a charitable cause hope and confidence that they will be able to keep offering their services for many years to come.
The Air Ambulance has helped save the lives of many people in critical conditions caused by a variety of things, and they help many riders during their time of need following serious falls.
Nine year old Abbi had been happily riding her pony Billy at a local show, when suddenly he reared up, lost his balance, and fell backwards onto her. He rolled over Abbi, crushing her and in his panic to get up trampled on her leg – shattering her femur.
