1. Getting fitted by a stockist

Our body protectors are available to buy from our approved stockists. Where possible, we recommend you visit one of these stockists for a fitting. You can find your nearest with our stockist finder.  If you don't have one nearby, please contact us and we will be able to help.

If you're unable to visit a stockist and would like to buy online, this guide will show you how to get a recommended size and check the fit of your body protector.

2. Advice for you...

3. How to measure for your size

If you aren’t able to get fitted at a stockist, we have a handy article and video that guides you through the process of taking the 3 important measurement and finding the best size for you.

1. Chest: measuring around the fullest part of your chest/bust, will give the base size that will fit best around you.
2. Over the shoulder: measuring your torso length, from waist to waist, will recommend a front length option, which we call the standard or tall fits.
3. Back: measuring down to where the body protector will finish on your back, will suggest one of the 4 back length options for each size.

4. Size chart of options

Most of our body protector models are available in the full child and adult size ranges, with over 70 size variations to fit every rider.

Don't worry, the sizing is not as daunting as all those size variations sound! To simplify it, each size has a choice of 2 body/front lengths (Std, Tall) and then 4 back length options (Short, Reg, Long, X-Long). Easy!

Below are size charts for each of our main ranges, which can also be downloaded. We'd recommend following the step by step guide to measuring above before referring to them to find a size.

5. Made to measure options

We're always improving our size ranges and are confident 99% riders will fit one of the 70+ variations. However, we want every rider to be able to enjoy the performance of a Racesafe body protector. Making all our body protectors at our UK base means we're able to offer made to measure options for custom orders.

The adjustments are individual to each rider, but in the past these have included custom front and back lengths, along with smaller shoulder sizes. If you think you might need this service, we'd suggest first being fitted at a stockists to establish what changes to a standard size are needed.

If you'd like more information or advice then the team would be more than happy to help.

6. Shoulder protectors

Shoulder protectors are important to consider for additional protection and can help reduce injuries to the shoulder & collar bone area by up to 80% (ref. Dr.Whitlock).

They are sold separately and are available for all body protector models. They are attached using the Velcro strap, via the shoulder loop included on all body protector models.

Available in 3 sizes:
Small: suitable for child body protector sizes.
Medium: suitable for Childs X-Large, Adult X-Small, Small & Medium body protectors.
Large: suitable for Adult Large & X-Large body protectors. Ladies with small shoulders may find the medium to be a better fit.

7. Checking the fit

We're proud to offer a range of body protectors that are synonymous with performance, comfort and the latest protection. Importantly though, this is reliant on your body protector fitting correctly .

So whether you've just got yours or want to check the fit of one you've been wearing a while, this video and guide run through some simple checks you can do to make sure you're properly protected. The correct fit and areas of coverage are universal, so you can follow these steps even if you don't have a Racesafe body protector.

8. Get expert advice
